Mexico Bans the Use of Marine Mammals for Entertainment
Media Reports
According to Mexico News Daily report, on Oct.28th, 2022, the Chamber of Deputies modified the General Wildlife Law to prohibit the use of marine mammals – such as dolphins, seals, and otters – as part of entertainment shows or activities not related to scientific research or educational reasons. If the objective is not the reintroduction, repopulation, or translocation of the specimens, intensive breeding is also banned.
The animals can now only be used for scientific research and educational purposes.
This is a good sign for marine mammals. Hope these adorable animals can live in the sea free!
