Frank Lamé
Brand Ambassador
Frank Lamé started diving in already in 1985. His diving can be categorized in three different groups: educational dives, recreational dives, and underwater video- and photography dives.
The educational dives are made as Course Director within the dive club in Amsterdam he co-founded, and of which he is still one of the board members (www.newlakedivers.nl). He makes educational dives with club members on all different recreational dive license levels. Using his extensive dive experience to help beginners to enjoy diving and more experienced divers enhance their technical skills and practical and technical dive knowledge. By lending OrcaTorch lights from his collection of lights, he brings new and experienced divers within New Lake Divers in contact with the OrcaTorch products, which has resulted in a lot of OrcaTorch dive lights amongst the members of New Lake Divers.
There is perhaps a thin line between his educational dives and recreational dives within the dive club, as most of the time, even his recreational dives are made with divers who are still developing their skills. As diving is no formal job for Frank, in the Netherlands most of his dives are made when diving with New Lake Divers. Nevertheless, sometimes there is time for a dive with his girlfriend. For those dives, they will often go to the province of Zeeland to dive in estuary waters. For those dives, he will always take his camera.
Frank took his first underwater photo already in 1987 with a rental camera and bought his very first underwater video housing in 1993. Two more video housings followed over the years, upgrading his equipment to level with both the technical developments of cameras as well as with his own growing skills. Currently, he’s making both underwater videos and photos with the Sony A7C, using various OrcaTorch lights. Part of his videos can be found on his YouTube channel.
Finally, Frank frequently goes on dive vacations with a strong interest in the Asian region due to its large biodiversity. On those trips, he will not be seen near the water without his camera and OrcaTorch dive and video lights.
