Dingguo Huang is a technical diving instructor trainer with nearly 30 years of diving experience. From an Open Water Diver to a Technical Diver, and eventually a CCR 100 IT, he has accumulated extensive experience across various types of diving, including recreational diving, deep technical diving, wreck penetration, and full cave diving.

He believes:  “Diving is a sport that involves knowledge, skills, and equipment. As the diving industry is constantly evolving—whether in terms of knowledge, techniques, or gear, continuous learning and training are essential for improving our diving skills, while advancements in diving equipment rely on brands and manufacturers to innovate and push the boundaries. Through continuous trials and usage, one will gradually discover that different scenarios require different types of equipment. Over time, you learn what works best for you and what offers the most reliability. I used to be nicknamed the ‘Gear Director’ by my buddies, simply because I loved trying out all kinds of equipment from different brands. But in the end, I realized that equipment reliability is a crucial factor in diving safety.”

In addition to his passion for diving, A-Guo (he likes this name) is also deeply dedicated to diving education. He believes that while teaching diving knowledge and techniques is essential, an equally important part is sharing his own diving experiences and reliable equipment he has personally used and approved. His goal is to help students and fellow divers avoid the detours he once took.

Beyond technical skills, A-Guo has long been involved in expedition diving and underwater archaeology. His passion and commitment to diving led him to become the Vice President of an underwater archaeology research institution, where he actively promotes the preservation and study of underwater cultural heritage.
