Frank Vasseur

Brand Ambassador

Frank discovered naturalism and outdoor activities during his teenage years through scouting.

He was introduced to caving and outdoor adventure sports in 1984, and in 1987, he learned to dive in order to extend underground exploration to its ultimate form.

Over time, he acquired the knowledge, equipment, expertise, and specific techniques needed to broaden his field of operation. He shares his skills by teaching as an instructor. Today, he trains instructors in overhead environment diving, synthetic gas mixtures, and closed-circuit rebreathers.

His explorations are driven by a desire to better understand this exceptional environment. Whether in France or during expeditions abroad, each discovery of unknown galleries comes with the commitment to share tangible outputs (maps, reports, photographs, films), so that each new discovery benefits others and not only the fortunate one who made it.

After serving as a lighting technician for others, the digital age brought him to the other side of the lens. With an approach more empirical than technical, he captures places that have rarely, if ever, been photographed — through still images or video. His aim is to glorify, aestheticize, and elevate an environment that only ignorance could reduce to something nightmarish.

He works actively with local authorities, scientific organizations, and cave owners to involve speleological exploration in the management of natural areas and their associated resources. He has been behind several discoveries related to cave-dwelling fauna.

As the author of several books on cave diving, his technical manual has become a reference used by multiple training organizations.

His expertise is also utilized in training certain official groups in overhead environment diving, such as Firefighters and National Police units.
