Exploring the Depths with Confidence — Story of Adrián González
Meet Adrián González, a retired Spanish police officer from the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group, and an experienced caver and cave diver whose passion for exploration runs deep — literally.
Adrián began diving in 2006 to explore caves beneath the surface. Over the years, in addition to completing various training courses with great Spanish, Mexican, and American instructors, he has been able to dive and learn from great Spanish and English cave divers. His dedication and curiosity eventually led him to become a Full Cave Instructor, although he does not provide training.
“We must have an open mind to learn from all divers,” Adrián says — a philosophy that reflects both humility and the constant pursuit of growth in the world of technical diving.
For Adrián, most dives take place inside caves — whether for training, enjoyment, or exploration. Nothing, he says, compares to the thrill of diving into a passage that no one has entered before, laying down the line, and searching for the best route through the unknown.
In his usual diving region, the caves are characterized by narrow siphons and long passages, making equipment reliability and portability critical. This is where OrcaTorch lights have become his trusted companions.
“Orcatorch lights are reliable, robust, and easy to transport between siphons in my helmet and my bags,” he shares. “I’ve been using different models for years, combining them depending on the dive, and I’m always eager to see and try new ones.”
For Adrián, proper light management is a key part of dive planning. He always carries more autonomy than needed, switching between his main and helmet-mounted lights for different tasks — whether surveying, mapping, or working on a line underwater.
Exploration is not only about discovery but also about trust — in your skills, your team, and your gear.
Good dives, Adrián!
Thank you for being part of the ME & OrcaTorch story.
